1 tbsp canola oil
6 oz sirloin steak, cut into strips
3/4 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup mushrooms, chopped
1 (8 oz) can sliced water chestnuts
2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp bouillon powder

1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp bouillon powder
Heat oil in frying pan and add steak. Cook until brown, then transfer to a bowl. Place celery, onion, mushrooms and water chestnuts in pan. Stir-fry for about 5 min. until tender. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water. Add soy sauce, sugar and bouillon powder. Add to vegetables in pan; boil to thicken. Add beef, stir
and heat through. Serve over rice or noodles. Recipe serves two but can be multiplied to serve more guests.
