Cranberry Pudding
½ cup boiling water
2 tsp baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1½ cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup whole fresh cranberries
Butter Sauce:
½ cup sugar
½ cup light cream
¼ cup butter
1½ - 2 cups cranberries
Combine molasses, boiling water and baking soda, stir to blend and let cool to lukewarm. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together into cooled mixture. Stir to blend. Stir in cranberries. Put in 1 quart greased mould. Cover loosely with foil. Steam 1½ hours. Serve hot with butter sauce (serves six to eight).
To make butter sauce: Combine all ingredients in small saucepan. Simmer 15 minutes. Serve hot over cranberry or partridgeberry pudding.
