Clam Chowder

1 can whole baby clams (5 oz)
Water
1 medium size potato, peeled and chopped
1/4 onion, chopped
2/3 cup evaporated skimmed milk
1/4 tsp each pepper and thyme leaves
1 tbsp lite margarine
Water

Drain clams. Save juice. Add water to juice to measure 2/3 cup. Combine liquid, potato and onion in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until potato is tender.
Add milk, pepper and thyme leaves. Increase heat to medium high. Cook and stir 2 minutes. Add margarine. Cook 5 minutes or until chowder thickens, stirring occasionally.
Add clams - cook and stir 5 minutes.
