Blueberry Pudding

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup blueberries
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup boiling water

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease an 8x8 pan. Cream together sugar, butter and egg in a large bowl. Add milk, salt and vanilla. Blend. Add flour and baking powder and mix well. Sprinkle a little flour over blueberries and gently fold into mixture. Spread mixture into greased pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over top, followed by the boiling water. Bake for 30-35 minutes . Serve warm or cold.
