Bacon-Wrapped Water Chestnuts
1 (16 oz) can water chestnuts (whole)
1⁄4 cup soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
Sauce
3⁄4 cup ketchup
1⁄2 cup sugar
1⁄3 cup brown sugar
Marinate water chestnuts in soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce) for 45 min. Wrap a strip of bacon around each chestnut and secure each one with a toothpick. Place wrapped chestnuts in a 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350°F for 40 min. Remove from oven and drain grease from pan. Mix all sauce ingredients in a small pot and heat on the stove until the sugars are dissolved. Pour over wrapped chestnuts. Return to oven and bake for 10 min. Serve warm. (Option: Instead of pouring sauce over chestnuts, serve it warm in a bowl for dipping.)
