It’s the most wonderful time of the year – it’s the 33rd annual Christmas at the Glacier!
Bring your list and check it twice, to the largest event of its type in the province, with almost 200 crafters and artisans. The kick-off to the season, an extravaganza of gift giving and personal shopping, with something for everyone!
When the idea was formed, folks said, “ A Christmas craft show before Halloween? That’ll never work”
But it certainly has.

From its beginnings in 1993 when the Glacier Arena was barely complete, to the present day with almost 200 vendors from across Canada, it’s a much anticipated Christmas shopping experience, and the City of Mount Pearl is buzzing with thousands of visitors during the five day event.
We’ve pulled out all the stops once again, to put you into the festive mood. There’s many new vendors, and of course all your favourites from Newfoundland and Labrador, the Maritimes, and beyond, are back. The majority have hand crafted products, made locally or in the Maritimes, Quebec or Ontario. Supporting local is so important these days!
And we can’t let this 33rd year go by without giving a special mention and sending huge thanks to the three vendors who haven’t missed a year:
Downhome Magazine, our major show sponsor since day one, in 1993, plus vendors Creative World from Clarenville, and local business, Butler Framing and Gallery in Mount Pearl.
Visitors from the early days in the 90s, tell us they mark their calendars and now bring their own children and grandchildren. Many make the show an annual tradition and day out with family and friends, some even travelling across Newfoundland to visit – simply amazing, in this internet and online shopping age.
One lady commented on Facebook that her best friend makes the trip from Calgary every year.
Other comments include:
“Looking forward to the show, I’m so excited and haven’t missed one yet. Gets me into the Christmas spirit!” “ Love it all, especially the music and the new vendors”. “ Great to support local talented crafts people, it’s one of my favourite traditions.”
“My baby’s first Christmas at the Glacier! Can’t wait.”
“I love to shop and browse through all the beautiful things at Christmas at the Glacier. It’s a magical experience and a great way to get lots of shopping done.”

Don’t miss this 33rd annual show. Immerse yourself in the experience with the beautiful decor, get in the Christmas spirit with the Christmas music, the arena will be filled to the rafters with unique gifts for yourself, your home and all your loved ones. Plus of course the fudge, popcorn, chocolates and other tasty treats to satisfy those sugar cravings!
Don’t miss it this year, keep up the tradition, enjoy your visit, and turn this Christmas into an unforgettable one.
