It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Glacier!
Bring your list and check it twice, because it’s beginning to look a lot like… Christmas at the Glacier, a festival of craft and art! The largest event of its type in the Province has become the kick-off to the gift shopping season.
When the idea was formed, folks said, “A Christmas craft show before Halloween? That’ll never work.” But it certainly has. From its beginnings in 1993 when the Glacier arena was barely complete, to the present day with almost 200 vendors from across Canada, it’s a shopping extravaganza.
This year we’ve pulled out all the stops once again, to get you in the festive mood. There are many new vendors, and of course, all your favourites from Newfoundland and Labrador, the Maritimes and beyond are back. And we can’t let this year go by without a special mention and huge thanks to the three vendors who haven’t missed a year: Downhome Magazine, our major show sponsor since the first year in 1993, Creative World from Clarenville and Butler Framing and Gallery in Mount Pearl.
Visitors from the early days in the 90’s tell us they mark their calendars and now bring their own children and grandchildren. Many make the show an annual tradition and day out with family and friends. Some even travel across Newfoundland to visit – simply amazing in this Internet and online shopping age!
One lady commented on Facebook that her best friend travels from Calgary every year.
