Shortly after my wife and I moved from Ontario to Harbour Grace, the lady next door graciously hosted a gathering so we could meet all of our neighbours. Doug, who lived a few houses down, mentioned that he had recently sold his house and would soon be moving to Victoria. "Oh, Victoria is so beautiful," I said. "I'm sure you're going to love it." A month later I was surprised to run into Doug at my neighbour's Christmas party. "I thought you moved to Victoria!" I exclaimed. "I did," he replied, "But I wasn't going to miss Stephanie's party." "Really?!?" I was impressed. Not everyone would fly all the way from British Columbia to Newfoundland just to attend a Christmas party. "When do you fly home?" "What do you mean, 'fly home'?"
