Jon Lien and His Whale Rescue Team
One day I left my house
To walk cross the street
Standing in his door
My father I did meet
"Come in," he said
"There's a man I invited for supper."
He was sitting with
My father and mother
I looked at him
I'd seen that man
On national TV as well
On Land and Sea
It was Jon Lien
Whale rescue man
Saving whales
His master plan
A whale in trouble
Off Channel Head
Early morning
At daylight
Jon Lien and the
Whale rescue team
Had taken their course
To size up the currents and tide
I would not belong
They were by the whale's side
"What a sight to be seen,"
It was later said
The whale rescue team
Worked fast or that whale
Would be dead
They pulled out the tools
Long poles made from titanium
Razor sharp blades
Cutting ropes and a net
Working fast
The whale would
Be saved
The whale's blow hole
Blew stronger and stronger
Once more
He swam round
The zodiacs
Raised up his head
As he turned
He looked with his
Gigantic eye
"Thanks my friends
For not letting me die
If you did not arrive
I would have surely drowned
Now rotting on a beach
I will not be found"
