Skipping through the meadow<br /> past the old rusted gate<br /> on her way to grandma's<br /> she could hardly wait<br /> to see her grandma smiling <br /> at the gift she picked today<br /> in her hands she carried <br /> a dandelion bouquet<br /> <br /> Grandma will be happy<br /> she just knew it in her heart<br /> she could feel the special love<br /> her precious flowers would impart<br /> pretty yellow blossoms<br /> gathered in the month of May<br /> little fingers holding stems<br /> of a dandelion bouquet<br /> <br /> Bounding up the pathway<br /> with a grin from ear to ear<br /> her heart broke into pieces<br /> her eyes began to tear<br /> her smile, it soon faded<br /> and much to her dismay<br /> there was grandma on her knees<br /> holding a dandelion bouquet<br /> <br /> Grandma ran to meet her<br /> held her tight in an embrace<br /> told her how much she loved her<br /> wiped the tears from her face<br /> your flowers are so beautiful<br /> I'll put them on display<br /> In a vase, on her window sill<br /> sits a dandelion bouquet<br /> <br /> Wanda Peddle<br />   Submitted By: Wanda Peddle
