Our three daughters have been cadets with the 2910 Army Cadet Corp in New-Wes-Valley. Here is one of the poems that Robin and Megan have written for Rememberance Day over the past few years.

Our Soldiers

“I’ll be home soon hun,
Please don’t cry.”
But many never came home,
It was their final goodbye.

Our soldiers went off to fight,
for freedom and for others,
Never knowing if they’ll return alright,
Or loose sisters and brothers.

Lost of family and friends,
Buddies shot down by their side,
War raging around them,
Fighting for freedom and lives.

The terrors they went through,
The choices they made.
The freedom they fought for,
The lives that they saved.

Our soldiers of today,
Like those in the past,
Showing courage and bravery,
Hoping peace will last.

We remember our soldiers,
The fallen and living,
The past and the present
And the freedom we’ve been given.
