As the waters flow down the mountainside to the scenic view below,
While glistening in the morning sun that melts the winter snow,
Waiting for the plants and shrubs for beneath the frost they lay,
Alas the fragrance of May flowers and apple blossoms day.

To see again the geese so beautiful in their flight,
A robin struggling with a worm it's just a lovely sight,
The silhouette on the water from the opening sun going down,
To skip a rock and take a walk with no one else around.

The shadow of fishing boats laying lazily in the bay,
The crying of a seagull or the smell of new-mown hay,
The smell of ocean water that would take your breath away,
The blossom of the flowers a magnificent display.

The fields of wheat flowing in the wind like waves of golden wings,
The mountains and the stately lakes and the splendor there within,
The farmer on his combine as the evening sun goes down,
To hear the prairie dog just howl when there's darkness all around.

God gave these precious things to us to cherish with love and pride,
Let's clean up lakes and rivers and have a greener countryside,
We love you oh Canada that's why we sing of you,
Do your all for Canada, make your children proud and true.
