Little House On the Rock
In that house on the rock by the sea,
A place which meant so much to so few.
Fortification which never met par with want,
But that small place was where we’d always find you.
Infant and elder alike, we’d always seem to fit,
And there in the kitchen by the window you’d sit.
Every sun-filled summer when we found our way back,
To escape commitment and fulfill our caprice.
It was tradition, with you, we’d never want to change,
Fore it was comfort of stability and peace.
Home is where the heart is, you were just that,
Now homeless hallow and a worn out welcome mat.
I’d give it all around me to be where you are now…
I feel you all around me, your memory so clear,
And it is your memory which keeps us all going,
The house, your memoire, tribute to moments so dear.
As we leave, to venture down the path of life, forth to part,
Know that it wasn’t the house, but you, forever in our hearts.
