Belated Birthday Gift for Cupids Centenarian<br /> On August 27 while visiting his home town of Cupids Gerard Noseworthy made a special visit to a lady by the name of Gwyneth (Gwen) Power who celebrated her 100th birthday on August 25, 2018.<br /> After seeing Mrs. Power&acirc;��s birthday announcement on NTV earlier, Gerard&acirc;��s memory immediately flashed back a half a century. It was at that time fifty years ago Gerard hand picked fifteen gallons of blueberries in a single day and sold them to Mrs. Power who was the local blueberry merchant at the time. This feat was never repeated by Gerard but it was most certainly a topic that he bragged about each year around blue berry picking time.<br /> When Mrs. Power came by to see if Gerard had any berries, she expected him to have the usual two or three gallons. When he presented Mrs.Power with fifteen gallons of blueberries, she couldn't believe her eyes she kept saying "I can't believe you could pick so many berries in one day". She kept repeating that over and over. It was at that point Gerard felt he had earned the respect of Mrs. Power to be a good blueberry picker. That memory is still fresh in his mind to this day.<br /> The berries were picked behind the former pig farm in Cupids, it took three separate trips to get the berries home. <br /> Gerard thought while he was visiting his hometown of Cupids it would be fitting to visit Mrs. Power and present her with a belated Birthday gift of a container of blueberries that he picked near the place where he picked the fifteen gallons fifty years ago.<br /> <br /> Happy Belated Birthday Mrs. Power<br /> Gerard Noseworthy<br /> Gander<br /> <br />   Submitted By: Gerard Noseworthy
