Dear Sir; I am writing concerning a Good Samaritan that I met on June 26 of this year. I left Stephenville on Sunday, June 26 with my vehicle and a trailer to help a friend move out of an apartment in Grand Falls-Windsor and return to Stephenville. After we had everything loaded and tied down on the trailer, we discovered a wheel on the trailer was falling off. As it was Sunday, there were no garages open; we crawled as far as Canadian Tire. After some persuasion, we borrowed a jack, screwdriver and wrench from the parts manager. We bought a wheel-bearing kit and went outside to try and fix it. The bearing was all in pieces; one of the bearings had been put in backwards and was stuck in the hub, and we couldn't get it out. So we had to go back and buy a hub, a file and sandpaper (the axle was no longer smooth, and had to be sanded and filed). Shortly after we had started, a guy came along who had heard us talking to the manager inside the store. He spent four hours getting the job done, and very well. His wife and her sister, and her two kids, came by looking for him, because he was gone so long. They went and got coffee for him, and gave us cloths and napkins to clean off the grease. He took "Good Samaritan" to a higher level. His name is Brian Dooley, and he lives in Goose Bay. He was only home on vacation, and he spent all day helping us. When we left, he gave us a number to call if we had any problems. He told us to stop in Badger and check to see if the wheel was hot, and if so, call him.
