This past summer, my mother Cherry Buffett (Hillier), daughter of Lillias and Joseph Hillier, and five of 10 children (and spouse) had a chance to revisit the lovely town of Lamaline and surrounding areas where my mother's family grew up. We especially loved visiting the area where her family headed before the Tsunami of 1929 and the local musuem as well. The excellent tour guides helped walk us through the frightening events that took place that day. Living in Bay dÉspoir, also on the south coast, its amazing to be so close but yet so far from the Burin Penninsula. Gorgeous part of the island!
