Dear Ron; While shopping in Gander on Dec. 17, I needed to find an address to buy a Christmas item. While at the bank I asked a man if he could help me. He tried to explain but I was not at all familiar with the streets. He said, "Are you ready to go now?" I said yes and he said "Follow me and I'll take you there." As we were leaving the bank, another man, overhearing our conversation, said, "Nuttin' like gettin' escorted by da mayor, eh?" I thought, "The mayor, cool." It was Claude Elliott ( I had no idea). He led me to the address, I thanked him and said Merry Christmas. It was very kind of him to take the time to help me. He's a stand-up guy in my eye.
