On Dec. 24 I arrived home from a 15 hour drive from school in Corner Brook to Catalina, across Newfoundland around 9 p.m. Mom and Dad were waiting for me to put up the Christmas tree. Mom said the tree was not nice and I agreed. So my dad and I went into the woods in the dark looking for the perfect tree. After walking the railway tracks, I looked up and I saw our tree above a railway shed. Only one problem - it was too high to reach. I climbed upon the shed and cut the top off. Thank goodness nobody saw us. When we arrived home around 11 p.m., Mom agreed it was the perfect tree. I did not tell her how I got it, as she may have wanted me to return it. We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed all of Mom's homemade goodies. Here is a picture of Mom with her perfect tree.
