Picture taken on a trip to or from Aquaforte to St. John's during World War II. Fred Croft is at the wheel of the schooner Annie & Ida Lovett, while owner & skipper checks the compass. During the war my uncle Gordon Lovett brought many schooner loads of sand for the building of the US bases.
