While visiting my in-laws in Ship Harbour, NL, I went wandering off into the park to take pictures and made my way down to a cove. I was taking pictures of rocks when I caught something moving out of the corner of my eye. This is not something I'd ever see in Ottawa, so I didn't know what to think of it. About 10 feet away from me was a seal and it didn't seem to mind one bit that I was there. I'd have to drive hours to a zoo and pay $20 to see something like this behind a thick wall of glass. People back home here really are clueless as to how beautiful Newfoundland is. I feel so lucky that my wife is from Newfoundland and we get to go visit there as often as our schedules allow.   Submitted By: Richard Emond
