I started making replica boats last year, 2013, in Gander, NL, but I grew up and spent most of my life in the town of Twillingate, NL. I was a fisherperson for 15 years and always loved the saltwater and the fishing vessels. So one day in May 2013 I decided to make a replica boat of the Canadian Coast Guard ice breaker "Ann Harvey" and I must say she turned out to be pretty good. So this Jan. 2014 I was asked to make a replica fishing vessel from Twillingate, the "Polar Venture," and that was another great project and the owner was very pleased. It was only a week or so after and I was asked to make a replica of the M.V. Midnight Shadow from Twillingate, owned by Captain Richard Gillett - and also on the T.V series Coldwater Cowboys. That project also turned out excellent and now I have many other replicas of fishing vessels to make. I also have started a Facebook page called "Jeff's Little Boats Of NL." The only place that I can think of where I picked up this talent was when I was a little boy around the age of 8-9. My next-door neighbour used to make replica boats all the time and I spent many hours watching him after school. I guess the rest is just natural.   Submitted By: Jeff Clarke
