My husband Steve and I himmed and hawed about whether we should take our seven-month-old son with us up on the pond. One Saturday in February 2009 we wanted to join some friends on Round Pond in Pouch Cove for some ice fishing and a feed of beans and bread. The problem was: should we or should we not bring Cole with us? We finally decided that if he was bundled up enough a little fresh air would only do him good. We both grew up outdoors in all weather so why couldn't we do the same with our own child? Well, as you can see, not only did it do him good but he was comfortable enough to go to sleep in the back of our friend's snowmobile trailer. Little Darlin'! He stayed there for about an hour on some boughs, coats, and a fluffy blanket. My advice to all you parents: Never be afraid to take your child outside in the winter regardless of their age; you will only miss out on a bit of fun! P.S.
