Cheesy Hamburger Casserole

1 large onion, diced
1 tbsp oil
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp paprika
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 oz) can puréed tomatoes
1 (16 oz) box macaroni
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated

Preheat oven to 400F. Grease a 9" x 13" dish. Cook diced onion in oil with a pinch of salt. Add beef and cook until no longer pink. Add the dry seasonings and garlic. Pour in tomatoes and bring to a simmer; reduce heat to low and cook for an hour. Cook and drain the macaroni, and add it to the sauce, stirring to combine well. Transfer mixture to the greased dish. Top with cheeses. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 3­5 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes.
