Poppa Wolf’s Cheese Garlic Biscuits
1 tsp sea salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
6 tbsp vegetable shortening or butter
1 cup shredded old cheddar cheese
1 large clove garlic minced
1 cup 2% milk
Cut shortening into dry ingredients with a pastry blender until the mixture has the consistency of coarse corn meal or just use your hands. Mix garlic and cheese into dry mixture. Make a well in the centre of the dry mixture. Pour in all at once 1 cup milk.
Stir the dough for one scant minute. Drop with spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 450F for 12-15 min until lightly browned. Brush with melted butter. Makes 16-20 biscuits. Serve warm.
