Glazed Fresh Apple Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 cup finely chopped pealed apples
1 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup milk
Glaze
2 tbsp butter
icing sugar
milk
1 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 cup finely chopped pealed apples
1 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup milk
Glaze
2 tbsp butter
icing sugar
milk
Cream the first seven ingredients and beat until smooth. Sift flour and baking soda. Add 1/2 of the flour/soda mixture to creamed mixture and blend. Stir in apples, nuts and milk, add remaining flour/baking soda mixture and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400°F for 11-15 minutes. While still warm, spread with a thin glaze. Glaze:In a little pan, heat butter until almost brown. Add icing sugar and a little milk.
