Brown Sugar Cake

1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
3 eggs beaten
3 cups sifted flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Juice and rind from one large orange
6 cups raisins
3 cups currants
2 cups peel
1 1/2 cups of red cherries
1 1/2 cups green cherries

Cream butter and sugar together. Add beaten eggs, continue beating until mixture is very light. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together, and reserve a little of the flour for flouring the fruit. Add sifted dry to the egg mixture then add orange juice and rind. Finally fold in floured fruit. Use a large 10" pan which has been greased and well lined with wax paper. Bake at 275°F for 3 hours.
