JULY 4, 2017
Shanneyganock partners with visual artist to showcase Newfoundland and Labrador on new album

ST. JOHNâS, NL â" Local musicians Shanneyganock and artist Keli-Ann Pye-Beshara have teamed up to showcase the province of Newfoundland and Labrador in the bandâs latest release, Home in My Harbour.

Shanneyganock's newest album was released on June 24 at the Rock House in St. John's. The CD features two paintings by Pye-Beshara in its album design.
Chris Andrews messaged me out of the blue one day on Twitter and asked what would be involved in using my paintings for their new album. We had never met or spoken before but he had researched local artists and my paintings caught his eye, says Pye-Beshara. I was thrilled since Shanneyganock is one of the hottest bands on the local scene these days and I told them I'd love to partner up!

Pye-Beshara's painting Shot from a Cannon is featured on the album's cover and Pier Pressure is used on the interior pages.
From the moment I saw Keli-Ann's work I knew it was the ultimate companion to the music that both the painting and the band represent. It was only then made easier by Keli-Ann being a true professional and a class act," says Andrews, lead singer and guitarist for Shanneyganock.

I love the idea of artists representing the province through different media working together on the same product, adds Pye-Beshara. It's been a really fun collaboration.

As part of the collaboration, Shanneyganock and Pye-Beshara will host social media contests on Facebook in the near future (details will be announced on the respective Facebook pages). Shanneyganock will give away a canvas print of Shot from a Cannon at www.facebook.com/Shanneyganock. Pye-Besharas contest will give away signed copies of the bands new album at www.facebook.com/kapbart.
Shanneyganock, loosely translated from Gaelic, means creature of the night. Founded in 1995, the band that features Andrews, Mark Hiscock, Ian Chipman and Chris Donnelly has released 12 CDs and two DVDs and has garnered many East Coast Music Award and Music NL nominations and awards.

Pye-Beshara is a blogger and professional visual artist living in Holyrood whos known for her colourful stories and vibrant, whimsical visions of architecture and landscapes from Newfoundland and Labrador. Since 2006, shes been featured in publications such as Home & Cabin, Downhome Magazine, The Independent, Beyond the City, Dining & The Arts, Escarpment Magazine, On the Bay and Oil & Gas Magazine.
-30-
For more information, contact Keli-Ann Pye-Beshara, Piece of Pye, at art@kapb.ca or Chris Andrews, Shanneyganock, at (709) 693-8651.
Submitted By: Lesley Raymond
