My Late Uncle Cy.
Pic of my late Uncle Cy Brien behind the Counter of his Grocery Store in Trepassey in
the Late 1950’s before moving to Boston.Pic courtesy of our Cousin Jim Lane.
In the corner store by the harbour light,
Cy weighed cabbage and dreams each night.
With a squeeze‑box hum and a yarn to spin,
He sang of Ireland and fog rolling in.
A harmonica laugh, a wink, a rhyme —
Boston called, but he kept his time.
