This is my father, Michael Byrne Sr. who served with the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit from July 26, 1940 and was honourably released from his contract on July 17, 1945. He is from Conche, NL. The postcard was sent to Mrs. Will O’Neill and says “We’ll have a good drink when I goes home. Cheers.”…
