This picture was taken in the early 1880s on a hill above Ireland Bight, Hare Bay, White Bay. Jacob Pine was one of the first (if not the first) mailmen on the Northern Peninsula. His mail route was from Conche to Quirpon. He went to St. John’s in 1908. He never came back.   Submitted…
