Granddad and Me
This photo was taken on Change Islands, Nefoundland on July 18, 2014. We went to explore the old homestead on my mothere's side, the Peckfords. While we wandered around Payne's Cove, my father (Max Keeping of Channel - Port aux Basques, NL) and my nephew (Landon Keeping of Leduc, AB) decided to peek into Great Grandpa Joe's old store.
Peyton Kendall, age 4 years of Massey Drive, found the best seat in the house on the MV Sound of Islay as she travelled to Ramea for the festival. While there was a bit of swell on the water, Peyton enjoyed her perfect little seat and dvd player for the 75 minute crossing.
My four Great Nieces were visiting for a vacation. Two of their Great Great Grandfathers fought with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment in the First World War 100 years ago. One was a Blue Puttee. They are too young yet to realize the history they will carry on. But they did enjoy their visit and collecting shells on the beach.
