• Walk to the corner store instead of driving the car
  • Ride a bike in the summertime
  • Get a dog. You will have to walk him/her and it will be beneficial for you both
  • Take public transit to work, if possible, and get off at a certain point before your stop so you can walk the rest of the way
  • When at work, avoid the elevator and take the stairs
  • Stretch while sitting at your desk
  • If you have to speak to a co-worker, walk to his/her desk instead of calling
  • Housework is an excellent way to exercise. For example, vacuuming for 25 minutes can burn up to 130 calories.
  • Gardening is an excellent way to stretch limbs, build muscle and relax
  • Play and be active with your children
  • Shopping and walking around department and grocery stores are also good ways to burn calories (just remember to buy healthy food)
